Therapeutic Massage

Bodywork that fits your wellness plan.

Therapeutic massage at Beo isn't a one-off escape — it's hands-on bodywork that fits inside the wellness plan we're building together. Sessions are customized to where your body is each week: a flare in the neck and shoulders, recovery from a hard training block, or simply a nervous system that needs help dropping out of high alert.

What it is

  • · Hands-on bodywork tailored to your goals and current physical state.
  • · Integration with the rest of your protocol — nutrition, HTMA, lifestyle anchors.
  • · Customized pressure and focus areas; nothing prescriptive about technique.
  • · A quiet, unhurried space designed to help the parasympathetic nervous system actually take over.

Who it’s for

  • · Clients already working with Maryann on functional nutrition or HTMA who want bodywork as part of the plan.
  • · People with chronic tension that responds best to consistent, integrated bodywork — not just an occasional spa visit.
  • · Active clients training through long Michigan winters who need recovery support.
  • · Anyone whose nervous system is stuck in high gear and needs a regular reset.

What happens

From first visit to follow-up.

  1. 01

    Brief check-in

We start each session with a quick check-in: where the body is today, what's been a recurring tension pattern, and any goals from the wellness plan that the bodywork should support.

  2. 02

    Customized session

Pressure, focus areas, and pacing are calibrated in the moment. We work to whatever state your body actually needs — restorative on a depleted week, more focused tissue work when something specific is flaring.

  3. 03

    Integration

Many clients book a nutrition follow-up alongside the massage so the conversation about hydration, minerals, sleep, and recovery happens in real time.

What you leave with

  • · Reduced tension and a measurably calmer nervous system.
  • · A sense of which patterns kept showing up — useful information that feeds back into the protocol.
  • · A maintenance cadence that fits your week, not a generic 'every 4 weeks' template.

Time & cadence

Sessions run 60 or 90 minutes. Most clients book a regular cadence (weekly to monthly) once we find what serves the body best.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can I book massage without a nutrition consult? +

Yes. Many clients start with massage and add functional nutrition later, or vice versa. Both work as standalone services and as integrated care.

What style of massage is this? +

Therapeutic and customized. The session shapes itself around the body in front of me — sometimes Swedish-style, sometimes deeper tissue work, sometimes a slower, more restorative approach. We talk through what you're after at the start of each session.

Should I avoid eating before a session? +

Eat lightly an hour or two beforehand — full meals right before bodywork are uncomfortable, and being undernourished is also unhelpful.

How often should I come in? +

It depends. Some clients are weekly during a hard recovery stretch and monthly afterward. We'll find a cadence that fits your body and your week.

Do you accept insurance for massage? +

Therapeutic massage is generally not billed through insurance here. Many clients use HSA/FSA funds; check with your plan administrator.
